Built in 1913, Adventuress is a 97 year old schooner and a National Historic Landmark. She sails in the Salish Sea and is owned and operated by the non-profit organization Sound Experience. Our mission is to educate, inspire and empower those who sail with us to help them discover Puget Sound and learn from its majesty and vulnerability. Our focus is educational because we believe that people will protect what they learn to value.

Our vessel is better than others, because we take great care of our crew, we strive to protect the environment through excellent programming, but the trump card is that we are B.B. Crowninsheild's largest remaining ship still sailing.

The program we run is focused on environmental education, sail-training, and character building.

Frustrations onboard include like everyone, personal space. However, our excellent community makes it very manageable.

Our program would be better if our COI allowed topsails. Still, our programs are magical without them.

We are based out of the Puget Sound. We serve all ports on its shores.

Our crew's favorite hangouts are The Center for Wooden Boats (Seattle), The Marine Science Center (Port Townsend), The Seattle Aquarium, Undertown Coffee (Port Townsend), Cutters Point Coffee (Tacoma)

In the industry, we have a reputation for our community, our excellent programming, and our investment in the training of our crew.

In the future we hope to expand our community to inspire more people to love and take care of our watershed, and to still be sailing for another 100 years.

In tall ship races we generally never officially race, but we sail along anyway and know that if we were entered, we'd be winning.

If our vessel was reincarnated as an animal she would be an Orca. They love us.

If I had to guess her favorite color, it would be red, like her rub rails. And because we're hot.
